1. General Provisions
This Privacy Policy explains what data may be processed when using the My Tasks Manager mobile application, for what purposes it is used, to whom it may be disclosed, and what rights the user has.
This Policy applies to the use of the app, its related features, and the policy, terms, and privacy choices pages posted on the app’s official website.
If mandatory provisions of the law of the user’s country provide additional guarantees and rights, those provisions will prevail over this Policy to the relevant extent.
2. What Data May Be Processed
2.1. Data Added by the User to the App
The app may process and store data that the user creates or adds, including:
- task titles, subtask texts, and other text entries;
- dates, times, intervals, recurring settings, reminder parameters, and task statuses;
- interface, theme, language, tab, statistics, Pomodoro, and other user settings;
- information about attached files, images, and other attachments.
- local technical data for device widgets, if the user adds an app widget to the home screen.
The main body of such data is generally stored locally on the user’s device, unless the user independently uses backup features or other external services.
If the user saves plain text in the link field and then opens it, the app may send that text to the selected search engine to perform a search. Email addresses and phone numbers are opened through the email app or phone app and are not sent to the search engine.
If the user adds an app widget to the device home screen, the app may store a local technical snapshot of upcoming tasks, dates, times, and display settings so that the widget can show up-to-date information. This data is used only for the widget on the user’s device.
2.2. Subscription and Premium Access Data
If the user purchases a paid subscription or uses purchase restoration features, the app may process information about access status, product identifier, purchase source, access expiration date, and related technical events necessary to provide premium features.
Payments and billing are processed by the relevant app distribution platform, including Google Play and the Apple App Store. We do not receive the user’s full bank card details.
To verify purchases, restore Premium access, protect against fraud, and limit abuse, the app may create a technical installation identifier and send its hash to the purchase verification server. This identifier is not used for advertising and is not intended to track the user across third-party apps or websites.
Device or other identifiers may include the app’s technical installation hash, identifiers or tokens related to purchase verification, Google Play Billing, Apple App Store, StoreKit, Apple In-App Purchases, Google Play Integrity, Firebase, Google AdMob, and similar technical services.
On Android, such information may be related to Google Play, Google Play Billing, Google Play Integrity, Firebase, and Google AdMob. On iPhone/iOS, similar information may be related to the Apple App Store, StoreKit, Apple In-App Purchases, iCloud, Apple ID, and Apple system services to the extent necessary for purchases, access restoration, backups, and app functionality.
Such data may be used to provide app functionality, verify and restore Premium access, prevent fraud, ensure security, perform diagnostics and analytics, display advertising, and comply with platform requirements. The app’s technical installation hash is not used by us to track the user across third-party apps or websites.
2.3. Analytics and Diagnostic Data
The app may use analytics and diagnostic tools to understand how its features are used, identify errors, and improve stability, performance, and interface usability.
The user may enable or disable the relevant processing categories in the available app settings, if such an option is provided for the specific platform and build.
2.4. Advertising Data
The free version of the app may display advertising through Google AdMob or related advertising technologies. In connection with this, advertising partners and the relevant SDKs may process technical data necessary to display advertising, measure its effectiveness, prevent fraud, limit ad frequency, and, where permitted by law, personalize advertising.
2.5. Backup Data
If the user voluntarily uses the backup feature, app data may be uploaded to the cloud storage selected by the user, such as Google Drive or iCloud. The contents of the backup depend on the implemented functionality and may include the app database and related user data necessary to restore the app’s operation.
If the user enables backup encryption, the backup is protected with a password set by the user. The password is used to encrypt and restore the backup.
The app does not save the password for the encrypted backup and cannot recover it. If the user forgets or loses the password, restoring the encrypted backup will be impossible.
When using backup and restore features, the user may choose to connect an external cloud service, such as Google Drive, iCloud, or another supported service.
On Android, backup may use Google Drive and Google services if the user connects the relevant account. On iPhone/iOS, backup may use iCloud, Apple ID, Apple system services, or Google Drive if this option is available in the current app version.
To connect a cloud service, the app may use technically available account information needed for authorization and backup operation, such as name, email address, user identifier, or access tokens provided by the relevant platform.
A backup may contain app data, including tasks, subtasks, reminders, settings, statistics, custom tabs, attachments, or information about attached files, if such data is used by the user in the app. The contents of the backup depend on the implemented functionality, the user’s platform, and the connected cloud service.
No separate My Tasks Manager account is created in the app. Connecting an external cloud service is used only to create, store, and restore a backup at the user’s choice.
2.6. Data Related to Device Permissions
Depending on the features used, the app may request and use access to the following device capabilities:
- notifications and exact reminders/alarms;
- microphone and speech recognition for voice input;
- camera;
- gallery and photos;
- device files;
- Bluetooth, if required by system mechanisms for voice input or interaction with the device;
- internet connection for advertising, subscriptions, backups, purchase status checks, and related online functions;
- device system authentication, including biometrics, PIN, password, or screen lock pattern, if the user enables the app lock feature.
When using the app lock feature, the app uses the device’s system authentication mechanism. Biometric data, PIN, password, and screen lock pattern are processed by the device operating system. The app does not receive, store, or transmit the user’s fingerprints, face data, PIN, password, or screen lock pattern.
When using the app lock feature, the app uses the device’s system authentication mechanism. On Android, this may include system device lock and biometrics. On iPhone/iOS, this may include Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode through Apple system mechanisms. Biometric data, PIN, password, screen lock pattern, Face ID, Touch ID, and the passcode are processed by the device operating system. The app does not receive, store, or transmit the user’s fingerprints, face data, PIN, password, screen lock pattern, Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode.
When using voice input, the app uses the device’s system microphone and speech recognition mechanisms. Voice input processing may be performed locally on the device or using operating system services and their providers, such as Google or Apple, depending on the device, language, system settings, and the availability of offline speech recognition. The app does not separately store audio recordings of voice input and uses the recognition result only to enter text into the field selected by the user.
If the user does not grant permission, certain app features may be limited or unavailable.
3. Purposes for Which Data Is Used
Data may be processed for the following purposes:
providing the core functionality of the app;
creating, editing, displaying, sorting, and storing tasks and related materials;
creating and sending local reminders;
providing premium features, processing subscriptions, and restoring subscriptions;
verifying the authenticity of purchases and protecting Premium access from abuse;
backing up and restoring user data;
protecting backups with a password if the user voluntarily enables encryption;
analyzing app usage and improving its quality;
diagnosing errors, crashes, and performance issues;
displaying advertising, controlling its frequency, measuring effectiveness, and complying with applicable privacy requirements;
ensuring security, preventing abuse, and complying with legal requirements;
restricting access to the app by means of device system authentication, if the user voluntarily enables app lock;
providing user support and handling requests.
displaying task data in local device widgets, if the user adds such widgets;
4. Legal Bases for Processing
Depending on the situation and applicable law, data processing may be carried out on the following bases:
- performance of a contract or provision of functionality requested by the user;
- user consent;
- the rights holder’s legitimate interest, provided it does not override the user’s rights and freedoms;
- compliance with a legal obligation.
Where separate consent is required by law, for example for certain advertising or analytics scenarios, processing is carried out only where such a basis exists and to the extent provided by applicable law.
5. Advertising, Consent, and Privacy Choices
For users in certain countries and regions where required by law, the app may display a dedicated consent window or privacy choices related to advertising, measurement of its effectiveness, data use, and similar purposes.
The user may be able to accept, reject, or configure the available options where this is provided by the technical implementation, platform, advertising provider, and law.
The user may also change the available options later through the app section related to privacy, if such a section is required and available.
Refusal of certain types of processing may affect the type of advertising shown, including personalization, but does not necessarily result in the complete absence of advertising.
6. To Whom Data May Be Disclosed
We do not sell users’ personal data. However, data may be transferred to or become accessible to the following categories of recipients:
- cloud and technical infrastructure providers;
- app distribution platforms and payment providers, including Google Play and the Apple App Store;
- analytics and diagnostic services;
- advertising partners and advertising SDKs;
- backup and cloud storage providers, if the user voluntarily uses such features;
- the search engine selected by the user, if the user opens plain text from the link field as a search query;
- government authorities, courts, regulators, and other persons where required by law or necessary to protect our rights.
- purchase verification, security, and abuse prevention services;
7. International Data Transfers
Because the app may use international platforms, SDKs, and cloud services, data may be processed and stored in countries outside the user’s country of residence.
By using the app and the relevant features, the user understands that such cross-border processing may take place to the extent permitted by applicable law.
8. Data Retention Periods
We seek to retain data no longer than necessary for the purposes stated in this Policy. The following approaches usually apply:
- local user data is stored until it is deleted by the user, until the app is deleted, or until the app’s data is cleared;
- backup copies are stored until they are deleted by the user from the relevant cloud service;
- the password for an encrypted backup is not stored by the app;
- the app lock setting is stored locally on the device until the user disables it, clears the app data, or deletes the app;
- data related to subscriptions and access status is stored to the extent reasonably necessary to confirm access, provide support, comply with the law, and resolve disputes;
- analytics, advertising, and diagnostic data may be retained in accordance with the rules of the relevant service providers.
- local user data is stored until deleted by the user, the app is uninstalled, or app data is cleared, if such clearing is supported by Android, iPhone/iOS, or the current app version;
- backup copies are stored until the user deletes them from the relevant cloud service, such as Google Drive, iCloud, or another supported service;
9. User Rights
Depending on applicable law, the user may have the right to:
- request access to data;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request deletion of data;
- restrict processing;
- object to certain types of processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- request data portability where provided by law;
- lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority.
- delete backup copies from their cloud storage, such as Google Drive, iCloud, or another connected service.
Some of these rights may be exercised independently by the user, for example:
- delete tasks, files, and other materials within the app;
- change analytics, diagnostic report, and privacy choice settings within the app;
- revoke app permissions in the device settings;
- cancel a subscription through Google Play or the Apple App Store;
- delete backups from their cloud storage.
For questions about exercising rights, the user may contact: [email protected].
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or destruction.
The user may enable additional security features if they are available in the user’s version of the app and on the user’s device. Such features may include app lock using device system authentication, as well as password encryption of backups.
The app lock feature uses the mechanisms of the device operating system. The app receives only the result of the check — successful authentication or denial — and does not receive the biometric data, PIN, password, or screen lock pattern themselves.
When enabling backup encryption, the user is responsible for keeping the password safe. The app does not store the password and will not be able to help restore an encrypted backup if the password is lost.
However, no method of data transmission over the internet and no method of information storage can be considered absolutely secure, and therefore absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
The user may enable additional security features if they are available in their app version and on their device. Such features may include app lock using device system authentication, including Face ID, Touch ID, or other platform mechanisms, as well as password-protected backup encryption.
11. Children and Minors
The app is not intended for the unlawful collection of children’s data in violation of applicable law. If the laws of the user’s country require consent of a parent or legal representative for use of the app, the user must obtain such consent before starting to use the app.
12. Third-Party Services
The app may use third-party services and platforms, including, without limitation:
- Google AdMob;
- Firebase Analytics;
- Firebase Crashlytics;
- Google Play Billing;
- Apple In-App Purchases;
- Google Drive;
- iCloud;
- system services for notifications, camera, microphone, speech recognition, files, photos, and device authentication.
- Google Play Integrity and similar security verification services;
