1. What My Tasks is
My Tasks is a task management app that helps you plan your work and use the Pomodoro timer. All tasks and data are stored on your phone, and core functionality does not require internet access. We aim to make your workflow more convenient and efficient.
In the app, you can create tasks, set dates and reminders, add subtasks, attach files and links, complete and restore tasks, use Pomodoro, statistics, backups, and app access protection.
Some features are available only in PRO.
2. First launch
On first launch, the app shows a welcome screen and a short introduction.
It may ask for Notifications, Alarms, Microphone, Bluetooth, and privacy settings. You can skip permissions, but reminders may not work without notifications and alarms.
On iPhone/iOS, some permissions are managed through iPhone settings and Apple system dialogs.
3. Main screen and tabs
Tasks are organized by tabs: Day, Week, Month, and Year +.
Year + shows tasks for the current year and future tasks. Dated, deadline, ranged, and repeating tasks appear automatically in matching standard tabs. Custom tabs are available in PRO.
Swipe left or right to switch tabs. Hold a tab name to reorder it. Use ⋮ to add, rename, delete, hide, or restore tabs.
4. Creating a task
Tap + at the bottom of the screen. The New task screen opens.
You can set title, color, subtasks, start and end date, reminder, repeat rule, link, email, phone, files, and photos. Tap the checkmark to save. The title is required.
5. Tasks with and without dates
Tasks without a date are shown above dated tasks and can be reordered manually.
Dated tasks are sorted automatically and appear in day, week, month, year, and future periods.
6. Task color
You can choose a task color while creating or editing. It appears on the side of the task card.
7. Subtasks
Tap Add subtask to add one or more items inside a task. Subtasks can be deleted while editing. If there are many, Load more appears.
8. Date, deadline, and reminder
You can set a date and time. After selecting a deadline, Start, End, and Reminder appear.
If reminders are unavailable, tap the warning to open phone settings and enable permissions.
In app settings, you can choose when the default reminder is created for new tasks: at the event time, or a number of minutes, hours, or days before.
This setting applies only to new tasks. Existing tasks keep their current reminder time and are not changed automatically.
9. Repeating tasks
Set a start date, then enable Make task recurring.
Repeats can be daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. You can set intervals, weekdays, month dates, months, and repeat limits: forever, a set number of times, or until a selected date.
After setting the repeat options, go back — the selected settings will be saved.
10. Editing repeating tasks
When editing a repeating task, choose whether the change applies to Only this occurrence, This and future, or Entire series.
11. Files and photos
Files are available in PRO. You can attach camera photos, gallery images, documents, and other files.
- Open a task or the task creation screen.
- Tap Add file.
- Choose Camera, Gallery, or File.
Attached files stay on the phone when a task is deleted.
12. Quick action: link, email, or phone
In PRO, you can add a link, email, or phone number to a task.
- A link opens the browser.
- An email opens the mail app.
- A phone number lets you call or open WhatsApp.
If plain text is entered as a quick action, the app may open it as a search query in the selected search engine. The search engine can be selected in settings if this option is available in your app version.
13. Task menu
Each task has a ⋮ menu with actions: add subtask, add file, add link/email/phone, duplicate, move, edit, or delete.
Move is available for tasks without dates. Files and quick actions are PRO features.
14. Completing, skipping, and deleting tasks
Use swipes on the task card:
- Swipe right — complete a task or skip an occurrence.
- Swipe left — delete a task.
On Day, the task is completed. On Week, Month, and Year +, a repeating occurrence can be skipped.
15. Completed tasks archive
Completed tasks appear in Completed tasks. Tap See all to open the full list. Archived tasks can be restored or deleted.
16. Task search
Tap the search icon and enter text in Search….
Search looks for active tasks by title. Tap Load more for more results. If PRO has ended, locked PRO tabs are not included.
17. Pomodoro timer
Open ⋮ and choose Pomodoro.
Modes: Pomodoro, Break, and Long break. Buttons: Start, Pause, and Reset. Custom Pomodoro sounds are available in PRO.
18. Statistics
Open ⋮ and choose Statistics.
Statistics show active, overdue, created, completed, deleted, and skipped tasks. Periods include today, yesterday, week, and custom period. Charts can be pie or line.
19. Backup
Backups are available in PRO. Open ⋮ and choose Backup.
You can create or restore a backup. Android uses Google Drive. On iOS, you can choose iCloud or Google Drive. After restore, the app restarts.
On Android, Google Drive is used. On iPhone/iOS, iCloud or Google Drive can be selected if the option is available in the current app version.
20. Backup encryption
Enable encryption in Menu ⋮ → Settings → Security → Backup.
If enabled, the app asks for a password when creating a backup. Important: the password is not saved and cannot be recovered.
21. App access protection
In PRO, enable access protection in Menu ⋮ → Settings → Security → App access protection.
The app will ask for biometrics, PIN, password, or pattern when opening.
On iPhone/iOS, app access protection may use Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode through Apple system mechanisms.
22. App settings
In Settings, you can change language, first day of the week, light or dark theme, Pomodoro, default reminders, privacy, and data cleanup.
In PRO, theme color and background color are also available. Clear all data deletes tasks, subtasks, archive, statistics, links, sorting, notifications, and custom tabs. Settings and active PRO remain.
23. Time zone and reminders
If your phone changes time zone, the app may offer to update future reminders. For example, a 09:00 reminder will arrive at 09:00 in the current local phone time.
24. PRO version
PRO unlocks unlimited tabs, tab management, file attachments, theme colors, cloud backups with password protection, custom Pomodoro sounds, use without intrusive ads, and app access protection.
Monthly and yearly plans are available. Prices and subscription management are handled by the app store. A 7-day trial may be available for new users.
25. If PRO has ended
If Premium has ended, custom PRO tabs remain visible but become view-only. Tasks and data are not deleted. Editing PRO tabs is blocked and reminders work only for regular tabs until PRO is restored or renewed.
26. Phone quick actions
Your phone may show quick actions: quickly create a task or open Pomodoro. Tapping a notification opens the related task. If protection is enabled, the app asks to unlock first.
Device widgets may also be available: they can show selected task information on the home screen if the widget is added by the user.
27. Help
Open ⋮ and choose Help.
This section includes instructions, privacy policy, terms of use, privacy options, support email, and app version.
